POLICY GUIDELINES ON SCHOLARSHIP ADMINISTERED BY INDIAN COUNCIL FOR CULTURAL RELATIONS

(FOR APPLICANTS)

  • Revival of Scholarship:

    • If a student fails in his/her first/second year (third/fourth year in case of engineering courses) his/her Scholarship would be discontinued.
    • In case he/she does not want to continue the course as a self-finance student, and leave the same half-way, he/she will have to pay the amount spent by ICCR on him/her till the time he/she was enrolled in the University/Institute.
    • In case he/she wants to continue the course, he/she will have to continue the same by self-financing. Once the students passes this level by self-financing, ICCR scholarship for next levels would be revived.
    • Requests for revival of scholarship first or second year (third or fourth year in case engineering students) would be considered only when the student clears his/her examination successfully within one year of the discontinuation of his/her Scholarship.
  • Extension of Scholarship:

    • ICCR does not extend of scholarship beyond the duration of course for which Scholarship has been awarded to the student.
    • In case of students in final year of course, period of scholarship is extended only till the date of issue of provisional certificate of final results, beyond which scholarship is not continued.
    • Stipend/ hostel Rent will be paid only up to the date of declaration of result/receipt of provisional certificate and not beyond that in any case.
    • Scholarship shall be terminated in the following conditions:

      • Student fails repeatedly for two years in his/her academic courses and shows no improvement,
      • Is involved in exam-malpractices/ anti-social/ criminal activities, or any other act of serious indiscipline.
      • In such cases, the student will have to continue his/her academic pursuits on his/her own expenses
  • Under Special Scholarship Scheme for Afghan Nationals (SSSAN)

    • There is a provision of giving one year extension of scholarship only under Special Scholarship Scheme for Afghan Nationals.
    • The one year extension could be availed as extension for one full year or two semesters of six months making one year duration.
    • The Extension is subject to the following conditions:
      • Student’s attendance should be more than 50%.
      • Student’s academic performance should be satisfactory as per the University/ Institution he/she is studying.
      • Student should not be involved in any anti-social activity or serious brawls on or off the campus.
    • For Revival of scholarship and extension of scholarship in case of final year students, guidelines mentioned above in section I and II would be applicable.
